Step Into a Scientist’s Shoes

What does it feel like to be a scientist? Join us for a family-friendly TED-style talk on the places that science can take us, illustrated with stories and experiences by Ted Hartwell. Bring your five senses as Ted shares his adventures in archaeology, comets and asteroids, community environmental monitoring, and more.

Robots Rock!

Don’t miss this opportunity to explore The Discovery’s nearly 70,000 square feet of hands-on exhibits and take part in a variety of robotics activities. Build your own circuits, program a robot, see how robots are being used in and around Reno, and more!

Seeing the Stars

Discover the Sun, stars and galaxies. Try out NASA astronaut modules. And look through the eyes of robotic telescopes to explore the universe! Plus try out some fun, FREE hands-on activities with UNR and community star guides.

Families in Nature
Friday, April 29, 2022 · 4:00 – 7:00pm
Join Sierra Nevada Journeys for a hands-on nature exploration. Learn about what animals need to survive as you explore their habitats and find evidence of a healthy or unhealthy habitat. Explore Rancho San Rafael’s nature areas of wetlands, plants and wildlife through a scavenger hunt. Search for evidence of food, water, shelter, and space as well as dangers to the animals’ habitats.

Science is Everywhere

New for the 2022 festival, on this special day participating businesses and organizations will open their doors to the public for FREE exclusive tours and engaging activities surrounding science and technology.
The Northern Nevada Science & Technology Festival is a week-long community celebration of the innovation happening in our region. The festival will inspire and connect our community with the power of science and technology through hands-on school programs as well as a series of free, family-friendly events hosted by well-known formal and informal educational organizations throughout Northern Nevada.
