Galena Creek Visitor Center Tour

The Great Basin Institute is an interdisciplinary field studies organization that promotes environmental research, education, and service throughout the West. The Galena Creek Visitor Center is a joint-partnership between The Great Basin Institute, Washoe County Parks and Open Spaces, and the National Forest Service. Guests will participate in water quality testing/sampling, there will also be a healthy forest activity where volunteers will “plant” trees in a way to slow forest fire spread (supervised activity).
Parking: First entrance in to Galena Creek Regional Park; first right is the parking lot for the Visitor Center.
Safety: No smoking or vaping is allowed on the grounds. Close-toed sneakers or boots required.

The Northern Nevada Science & Technology Festival is a week-long community celebration of the innovation happening in our region.
